Description

The Coordinadora Estatal de Comercio Justo was found in 1996 to enhance Fair Trade in Spain. The association gathers all the organization importing products and the shops who sell them. Some of the objectives of the organization are:

  • To Coordinate and to channel the information between the Fair Trade organizations
  • To ensure the fulfilment of the Fair Trade standards
  • To represent its members of the organization before the international and the state entities
  • To enhance the debate about the ethical criteria on trade activities
  • To promote and participate in activities and initiatives contributing to enhance Fair Trade
  • To inform and raise awareness on the society
  • To promote the coordination imports and trade activities among the Fair Trade organizations

Nowadays, 34 organizations constitute the association to enhance Fair Trade in Spain. In the GEO FAIR TRADE Project, the CECJ will cooperate and participate in the Validation & Dissemination Board by fulfilling the evaluation and dissemination tasks.

Key persons involved in the GEO FAIR TRADE project:

  • Andrés González, President of the CECJ, will represent the CECJ in the project. He can delegate this role to another responsible of the CECJ if it is necessary.
